“This too shall pass”
Today was my first 6 month mole mapping at the Central Ohio Skin & Cancer center. The doctor took off 2 more moles, one that looked like a possible Basal Cell and one that was large and losing pigment in the center. We will get the biopsies back in 2 – 3 weeks and go from there. Hopefully all will be well and I won’t have to have more slicing and dicing done to my body. The doctor did find two other moles that we are watching due to their color.
Thus far, 22 moles have been removed since October of 2009. I have well over 100 moles to monitor with more that seem to appear overnight. The doctor and I sure have our work cut out for us.
I have to do monthly mole checks for the rest of my life. I go back in 6 more months for another mole mapping. Hopefully if I can go a year without any cancer, I will be on a yearly mole mapping schedule.
In the meantime, I have to keep myself busy and repeat often “This too shall pass”.
