The intelligent folks at the RIAA is at it again. They are now claiming that ripping CDs for use on your iPod or other MP3 player is not fair use – regardless that they admitted as much in a previous suit last year.
The RIAA has yet again screwed up in their tactics of protecting musicians copyright rights — or rather their gestapo-like pursuit of stomping out the rights of people to listen to legally purchased music in any manner they desire and ensuring their continued profit at the detriment of both musicians and their fans.
I just found this article on Boing Boing that shows just how far this ridiculous DRM has gone. Actually, this isn’t the first, just the latest in a series of music CDs with crazy copy-right protection rights.
